I made it to Sydney after some rescheduling by the airline but I'm here and getting settled in. About 23 hours in the air made for a sore butt in spite of getting up every couple of hours to walk around the airplane. A 787-9 Dreamliner, full with 285 passengers.

There is a heck of a storm off the the coast right now. It is flooding this area with heavy rains and many roads out of here can't be used. I am kind of trapped here in North Sydney for a while. In a Motel half way up a hill and assured that I'm good at this location. Which is OK as it allows time to search internet for a vehicle to buy before starting my journey.
Back home we would call this weather a Tropical storm. Downunder it is called a low pressure area. As it was explained me.

Sydney is 15 hours ahead of CDT. So noon Saturday in CDT time is 0500 Sunday in Sydney time.

I'm doing fine getting assimilated to Aussie culture. Driving on the right side of road and from right side of car, is more difficult than I thought. Need to focus on what I'm doing but getting use to it.

The people are very nice helping me whenever asked. The beer is good and expensive but won't let that get in my way.

Got a rental car to get me around until I buy one and a GPS to get to destinations quickly.
Will spend next few days shopping for a vehicle to take me around the continent.

No Pictures to post at this point. Pretty gloomy weather to take pictures

Will update this blog as situations present themselves.
Thanks for looking
